A few weeks ago, I post a thread asking if using spiral compact fluorescent. Got some pro and cons answer. I decided to go on and build my own canopy with four 27watts spiral bulbs I got from homedepot.
Here's the link for those bulbs: http://www.homedepot.ca/webapp/wcs/...Ntx=mode+matchall&recN=0&N=0&Ntk=P_PartNumber
Ok. So my tank is 36 gallons; with 4 bulbs, I got total wattage of 108 watts. That is 3 watts/gallon. It looks very bright.
So what do plants gurus think about this? I still have space to put 1 more bulb, should I add it? Right now, I'm having some low and moderate light plants. I want to add some hair grass and swords (bright light)
Comments are greatly appreciated. I'll try to post some pictures later.
