Hello experts!!!

I am looking to make some larger size aquariums... 125+ perhaps into the 250 range.... I have several as you can see by my listing...

Does anyone have the calculations for glass thickness and or plans for various builtin filteration ports / systems to help ensure adequate circulation from top to bottom.

One of the tanks I would like to construct is a 3 foot cube...so as you can see, the depth of the tank becomes a problem not only for light, but adequate circulation...

Please help!! THANKS!

Here is a link for glass calculations that I found while doing research. http://www.fnzas.org.nz/articles/technical/glassthickness/

I have looked at that site and boy do I not understand what they are saying.... I am looking for something in more lamens terms...even if it is rough estimates... I built the 110gl I have and it is with 1/2 glass,,, however going higher in volume concerns me with the load capacity of the glass... any ideas???

Hi, the GARF site: http://www.garf.org/ has some DIY pages, which calculate the required glass thicknes for whatever size tank you are thinking of constructing - just plug in the numbers (in inches) and it returns cut dimensions as well as glass thickness.

Cheers

Most tanks 120g and up use 1/2" glass, unless they are commercial grade then thier thicker, but regular aquariums use 1/2".

thanks a bunch...I checked the sites and the Garf one is pretty good... I am going to end up using the 1/2 on all sides except the top... now it is time to price shop.... I find it tempered 1/2 for about 14.83 per square foot?? How are pricings in your areas???
