i think this has been a topic here before. maybe another board.

the lfs has them again. he thought they were south american freshwater. he was told by the wholesaler they would be 6-10" full grown. they have a redish eye.

when you start searching for them on the net, it points you to the humpback puffer but these dont have humped backs. they sorta look like long bodied gsp's that have turned dirty brownish/yellow.

chunkypuff.net has been down for a couple weeks now. where else should i look for info?

It sounds like it might be an emerald, or common puffer. Or it could be a target puffer.

hey pufferpunk. what do you think about the puffer fish lair guy [bluemoon] keeping his fahaka at 1.005 s.g.? I havent put any salt in my fahaka tank. just how far down the nile do fahakas live? I think it dumps into the indian ocean but i dont know if the puffers would live close enuff to the ocean to get the brackish daily tides.
does filbert get any salt?

I have read of some folks keeping their fahakas in low BW. Filbert is in FW. I don't think any salt is necessary.

I think people keep them in BW because of misconceptions...no salt necessary, as Pufferpunk stated.

I think that the site is overall good, but there are those issues with the salinities.
