Is is possible to do to many water changes, for example 10-15% every day or every other day? Not to correct a problem just to keep the water quailty close to perfect.
Thanks for you input.

When I first set up my 20 gallon tank I did 10% everyday, I enjoyed it and so did the fish, now I have a 55 gallon I do about 30% on Saturdays..

Water changes can be stressful if there are excessive changes in water chemistry or temperature.

More $$$$ spend on Prime or whatever you use.

Greater possibility of your fish being poisoned by some oddball chemical that was released by accident in your water supply. This does occasionally happen.

Everything else being equal, your fish would prefer that you muck around in their tank as little as possible.

But all in all, too many is certainly better than too few.

I don't believe that you can have too many water changes. Too few would be a problem. I do 60% water changes five times a week on my discus tank and they love it but then again they are discus. Really a water change every other day at the percentage that you are doing is just fine. Your fish will only benefit from it in the long run.
