Downsize???....isn't that a dirty word?
I am a big fan of used tanks, 4 of our 6 were used. I have purchased 35 gal tank only for $25.00 Cdn, a 25 gal hex with hood, stand, gravel, plants (fake) and air pump for $ 125.00 Cdn,
90 gal with 2 heaters, stand, hood, light, filter, and various meds/accessories for $250.00 Cdn.....HTH:)

Why in the world would you downsize?!?
Anyway, I would say about $400-500 would be good if you included everything. I got mine for $200 but that was from my uncle.
Hi K, I have been shopping around for a 125-150 gallon tank. Here are some of the best prices.
New 125 gallon tank $285, iron stand, $101, wood stand $185. I saw one in the local paper go for $350 with all the toys. Guy told me that I was the 6th person to call after he sold the tank.
Good luck

avoxo, that is darn cheap for a brand new one. Around here, the run about $700-800 for a wood stand, tank, hood, and lights

Hi guys, if you add up the tank, wood stand, and a light fixture which would be around $210 it adds up to $680. Thats pretty close to your numbers BC.

avoxo's prices are right on in new jersey. i've seen 125g tanks (the standard 6 ft size) for right around those prices in both petsmarts and one lfs even had them new at $210 for the tank only. that same lfs had metal stands for only $80...sounds like a cheap setup for a huge tank to me if you don't care about the stand. wood stands were running around $200.
