Does anyone have any experience or insight on the lights sold on Ebay? Jebo, Catfish lighting or others? I need to get a light for my 20 gal high. I'm leaning towards AHSupply, but I have some money saved up in my Pay pal account that I would like to use for the light strip with out transfering it to my bank account. So, if the light strips on ebay will work for me that would be the best scenario. If not, I'll go to AH. So if you have any experience or opinion please let me know. Thanks in advance. Eric

i would just go with ahsupply they have great reflectors. if you dont have the money yet you can try power compact screw in bulbs that you can find at walmart and home depot.

Or, just shop for bulbs on ebay & get the fixture from AHsupply w/o bulb(s).

A friend of mine bought the Jebco 4 bulb unit with the fan. The price is great but the unit is not that great in my opinion. The fan was vibrating the case it actually was a pain to fix, the reflectors stink. The AH supply kits they work well and all parts are top notch. I put a ah 55 watt kit in the old light housing on my 29 and a ah 4 x 55 on a 90 gallon they both work great! If you install the light into a p lactic housing be sure to install the optional-use pop-in vent covers they help move some heat out.

thanks for your responses. Bigwater, I was planning on putting the 1x55 kit in my existing plastic housing, so I really appreciate the tip about the vents. I think I will order from Ah. It wasn't a question of spending money ( well a little ) as much as the easiness of using my Pay pal account. Thanks everyone for your replies. Eric

I really think you should consider a cheap perfecto screw in bulb fixture with some of the spiral fluorescent bulbs. You will get a descent reflector and the bulbs are not even half the cost.
