The sign said geophagus hondae. It doesn't look like the pics I've seen though. I know the picture isn't very clear (cell phone), but maybe someone can point me in the right direction.

its a blockhead or a lion head im breeding mine hehe such beautiful fish if it is a juvinille wait for a few months or until it gets larger if it has a large bump on the head its a male if its bump is small its a famale hope everthing goes well

It had a pretty good sized hump - a little larger than it looks in the picture.
It was $14.99.

now these are interesting cichlids!
once they pair up they stay together for life no matter what.
from what ive read, if one of them dies the other will not look for another.

yup thats quite right once paried they will never get divorced but one may die so yer . . . my two are really happy i have to net up some babies tomorrow to take the the pet store and they have already started there aggression to other fish in their territory . . . . good luck with the fish !! :)
