I currently only have one Pomacea Bridgesii (Brig) blue mystery snail in my 10g tank. The thing is, I was sent 4 of them by mistake from the breeder. So, right now, I have two of them sitting in the container that they were shipped it. I'm still deciding what I should do with them. Should I add another one to the 10g tank? It's already pretty heavily stocked as it is. Could it support another snail?

Also, I don't particularly want the snails to breed. What do you all recommend that I do?

Thanks,
Rob

If their anything like other snails, you'll also be a professional snail breeder in no time...

They're not like other snails. There are distinct male and female genders, and they only lay eggs above the water, so the population is easy to control.

Can anyone else offer me some advice? :)

Well your options are to pay for shipping back to the seller (doubt they will pay for snails), find a new home for them, euthanize them, or put them in the tank. I'd just put them in the tank.

I'd say just go ahead and put them in the tank. I have 6 in my 36g... wonderful additions. As for breeding... just check your tank every few days for eggs. If they do breed... and the probably will... you have plenty of time to dispose of the eggs. You have from 2 weeks to as long as a month before they hatch.

Have some escargot.
