I have the coralife 96watt PC over my tank. currently im runnig a combo quad w/ 10k daylight and 50/50 true ac.

the 10k is ok, but i was thinking that the higher spectrum has more blue, and would bring out the colors of all my corals better.

so 2 questions.

1, am i right in that assumption?
2, can i get a 14K quad bulb for my fixture??

May I suggest a DIY 70W MH that could be built for around a hundred bux.

As for you question I don't think they make a 14K for that fixture (I just switched to MH from that exat light). I think they only make 10K and the 50/50 you currently have.

yea..

where do y'all get the 12K and 14K bulbs?

the fixtures?

can i get advice in a DIY lunar light?

i just want it blue some of the time.

i just wish i could turn one or the other on and off...

Go to homedepot, get a flourescent fixture for a marine glo bulb that fits under your hood.

Done.

Thats the setup im about to install.
Im also running the coralife 96 quads, with the 50/50 setup.

JUst wondering there jojo if you like your halides better. Do they bring better color to the coral. WHat typed of coral are you doing?

I am doing a mixed tank and useing a 70W DE HQI bulb at 14000K!!

1000% better than the PC. I posted a link in another thread for a diy version that I am useing and can be made for right around $100 to $150 depending on what ballast and bulb combo you use.
