Hi there! I haven't been back since my panic re. ick:

http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=94827

Thanks to your excellent advice, we lost no more fish, and I am ready to start doing water changes without adding salt back in. I will also slowly lower the temp back to 72-74 (ish). THANKS!!!

However, I stalled out when I went to fix the tank back up, cause I think I did something kinda...well...what's a nice word for dumb?

I really got into the gravel for good cleanings during the treatment phase, and I didn't want to continually be re-planting, so I took out the plastic plants. They've been sitting in a bucket for two weeks. I also have the net, the gravel vac., etc. I wonder if I should treat the plants to a good soak in hot and/or salty water before reintroducing them. Duh...could they have ick???

I should have left everything IN the tank, right? :duh: (Sigh.) And what about the net, the vacuum, etc?

So, I humbly ask for your advice, when you're done laughing.

It can't live on dry surfaces. It also can't live too long without a host.

I would still give them a good rinse in hot tap water and maybe scrub them lightly. This is less for the ich than it is for the gross slimy yuckies which are probably on them from sitting a bucket of still water for two weeks.

clean them if you wish, but the parasite cannot live without a host for more than 48-72 hours. there's no ich on your plants, nets etc.

Ack! There's no water in the bucket. That would be gross! Thanks for your reply! :)
