I have a 10g with a small crack in it. You can’t feel it when you run your hand over it so it can’t cut. I don’t know what type of animal I would be getting so I don’t know if it needs swimming room, I guess I could use a bowl set in substrate. What would be some good stocking options? I don’t want to be feeding it living things like crickets.
A few months ago I was going to get a pacman frog but found out it could eat my rat. It can’t be anything that could eat my rat if they some how managed to meet each other.

IMO, i would either replace the cracked sheet of glass or buy a new 10g as they arent overly pricey, especially used.
I would just hate to be in the position of it breaking after its been inhabited, so it wouldnt be worth the risk, or maybe im just paranoid.

Just found out the cracked one was put in the trash...looks like I would be using a new one. I would love to own a freshwater flounder. Thanks for the help anyways.

Just to let you know, despite the name ""Freshwater" flounder" it is actually brackish and cant live in fresh water for long periods. just a heads up if you didnt know, i think they should rename it :P

I have a cracked 50 gallon that I use for my bearded dragon. It's across a 1/3 of the bottom sheet. What I did to fix it, since I knew it wouldn't ever have water in it, is to put aquarium sealant along the crack on both the inside and the outside, let it dry completely, then cover that with duct tape (inside and outside). I won't be putting anything heavy like sand back into it, so my fix-it job works just fine...

I've found out over the years, if you have a tank cracked on one of the side pieces, you can usually hide it behind decor after siliconing over it. You can even put sand or stones into the silicon before it dries to further camouflage it...

a 10 gallon will cost you about $50 for fish ( heater, tank, filter, lighting) and another 15-20 for the rocks, startup solution and a plant or two. Just a tank and screen for ter. its about $20 - ($8.99 for tank and $11.99 for screen)donno if it helps but I have both so I put my 2cents in. Also the lighting for the ter. will run you about $25-$30 ($5-$10 for heat lamp and $15-$20 for the UV light) if you get the ter. I suggest geckos there sweet, but fast gotta watch the top..lol

p.s. sometimes I ramble on for no good reason so sorry if it is just jibborous..!!
