Are there any small-medium size cichlids that can go in a community tank with 3 Angels, 6 silvertip tetra's, 2 emperor tetra, 1 flame gourami and a small sail fin plec(and about 100 MTS)? I'd love to have a cichlid in there somwhere, but im not sure what type would fit. Its a 55gal with a canister (fluval) filter, sand substrate, live plants and driftwood.

Any help/advice at all would be appreciated.

you already have 3 cichlids (angels). i'd just get 4 more emporer tetras and lose the pleco which will get too big and make too much waste and repalce it with a smaller pleco such as a bristlenose pleco and call it stocked. also watch for aggression between the angels once 2 of them form a pair, they may attack the third wheel.

Thanks for the quick response :)

I have noticed aggression between the angels, I contacted the LFS i got them from to see if the would take one or two back, they said they would get back to me. So they will eventually be gone. The emperors and silver tips were in a tank at the lfs together, I asked the woman if I should get more emperors she said no... *blah*.

So even if I did "relocate" one or two angels, still shouldn't replace it/them with anything? Hmm i was hoping for more color in the tank but o-well :/

Thanks again :)

As mentioned the angels are cichlids. You can safely add a pair of Kribensis or a shoal of ruby rams or german blue rams.
You are pushing the bio-load though. I highly recommend 35% water changes every 2 weeks to play things safe. 50% changes would be even better.

LMK, if you know which fish I am refering to.

just get more emporer tetras and silvertip tetras. you'll be amazed how they bring the tank alive. and as for aggression... do 2 of the angels constantly swim together and attack the other one, or is it evenly distributed? how long has it been up? I would add 2 rams.

I love the ruby rams! And I like blue rams as well, but I heard they(rams) are VERY delicate?
Kribs are nice looking too.
I do 35-40% water changes every other week.

I will be getting more tetra's.
The Angels, I have two "marbled" and one black(who is GORGEOUS!,super fins) Anyways, the black one is the most aggressive, he is mean to both of them, one more than the other though. The marbled stay to themselves, not aggressive(that ive noticed). 3 weeks to a month it has been going on.

blue rams are very delicate, but bolivian rams are tougher and a pair would be a good addition to your tank if you lose the pleco.

how aggressively does he nip? any fin damage?

No fin damage, he goes for their bodies-not their fins, he charges at them-nips and swims away, then sometimes one will fight back and they lock jaws for a few seconds and then go their seperate ways.

(The pleco is about 3.5 inches long)I was told she is a sail-fin, long wavy fins and she's a buttery color. i dunno- i dont think im going to listen to the fish store people anymore

then he's just defending his territory and behaving normally. unless there is physical damage or it is very excessive, I wouldn't worry about it.

sailfins can get over a foot in length, i've seen them at 20" before.

I wouldn't listen to the fish store, really.
