Hi Guys,
Recently the planted tank bug has bitten me, and off I went to get a small cube for my apartment. I wanted a tank along the lines of japanese, grasslands, gorges, freshness, cleancut. And so... I decided on having a tank full of hair grass, some glosso and a background plant that I need help identifying.
Anyway, here are some tank facts. Its a 10 gallon tank (18 inches), with 48 watts of 10 000 k lighting, 23-28 deg celcius, pressurised CO2 1 bubble per second to ceremic diffuser, hang on back mini filter. Fine 1-2mm subtrate on a fertiliser based on peatmoss.
The only stock I have in there is a tiny tiger shrimp. Which I think, doesnt really like it in there.
I've got a few questions... hope someone can address them.
1) My ph is 5.5 ... is this alright ?
2) My hair grass dont seem to be doing well, its 3 days old and its starting to look abit old. I've just cut them to 1 inches long as I've read somewhere saying its good for them.
3) I've got good lighting, I've got good CO2, why aint the plants bubbling as much as I would like them to ? I see a few bubbles on the leaves, but thats abt it.
4) Pls help me identify the plant on the left back portion, just behind the rock. I found it nice, but i realise it does not have roots at the bottom, it does have aerial roots. What are the requirements ?
5) How long should I expect for the tank to be carpetted ?
6) I've added the "all in one" liquid fertiliser by seachem and thats abt it, is there anything else I should add ? Its a brand new tank.
Thanks for your help guys.
Below are the tank pictures for your reference.
I've added a few pictures for your viewing pleasure.
ANy further advice would be much appreciated. I want this to go really well.
