Good diet for cories?

ILOVEBETTAS

It's Cory Lover's cat!
Is this a good diet?

I feed my cories TetraMin sinking wafers, Wardley's shrimp pellets, Hikari sinking wafers, and of course, whatever sinks to the bottom. Am I feeding them all right?

Mine are crazy for the tetra min tropical tablets. THats the only kind they eat though. I havent offered anything else. Wonder if that will be bad for them in the long run?

Hi,

That diet should be enough. But I would strongly recommend to feed them some live/frozen food once a week.

I feed my Cories HBH Algae Wafers, HBH Shrimp Pellets, Hikari Sinking Wafers, NLS Wafers, two kinds of flake food, frozen bloodworms once a week, and whatever else falls to the bottom.

BTW, next time try not to get Wardley Shrimp Pellets again because Wardley is not that good of a brand. Try to get HBH or Hikari.

Wardley isn't good? It has been the staple food of my cories for years. They are well over 5 years old now, and have had babies.

What makes Wardley's bad in your mind?

I used to feed Wardleys until I noticed that about half of the pellet wasn't being eaten. It seems that there might be some filler in the Wardleys pellets. My albino cory babies eat all of the HBH shrimp pellets though.

Hi,

Wardley has fillers in it I'm pretty sure.

HBH and especially Hikari are quality brands, but Wardley tends to be the run of the mill stuff.

It would seem to me that Hikari also contains more crude fat, less fiber and less crude protein. And it also has fillers, unless wheat is a natural source of food for fish. Not saying that Hikari is bad, just saying that it necessairily isn't any better than Wardleys, unless of course you can find other info, which may change my mind.

Wardley

Hikari

Crude Protein 32% Min.
Crude Fat 4% Min.
Crude Fiber 5% Max.
Moisture 10% Max.
Ash 12% Max.

Hi,

I don't want to argue about this. I have just been told by many people that Hikari is leaps and bounds better then Wardley.
