i went hiking this weekend and found some nice small rocks for my nano freshwater tank. i was wondering how i should clean the rocks. i soaked them in water for about 5 hours, emptied the water, and then repeated. are they good to go or should i also clean them another way?

there is no need to boil them, and it can BE VERY DANGEROUS and lethal if done to wrong rocks. :shark:

If you want to boil them, what you do is, use really hot water from your tap to heat the rocks up for 30mins, then boil a pot of water and pour it into the container. just be careful, cuz if you dont do this, some rocks hold water inside them and then the heat from boiled water will make them explode and cut you up.

its what i do, and i get lots of rocks from the wild. you dont even have to worry about it, cuz unless its a porous rock
