Right i live in Dubai United Arab Emirates and was wondering has anyone had any experience from taking goods from the ocean and placing it in an aquarium.

I have had a marine tank set up for quite a while now and while snorkeling one day i found a nice colony of polyps not too sure on the name, but as there were a few peices spare i thought they would look good in my tank.

Providing the authorities are all right with it, what do you guys think?
Thanks and much appreciated.

wear gloves.

also, id acclimate longer than usual, the diff. between water might be pretty significant.

its fine if u quarantine them first to get rid of any bad things that may come put. bets thing to do is set up a small tank with water from the ocean and then but the coral in the center and then some food in a corner under a rock. most things will go to the food and ur coral should be cleaned out over a bit of time by doing that. also as it is in quarantine test some of ur water with it to get it ready to the synthetic sea salt if thats what u use and then acclimate it very slowly to ur tank conditions.

Thanks guys will do that and keep you guys posted, its only going to be a small bit so will check to see how well it reacts.
Thanks again.
Germanman (apologies again)
