Welcome Joe...well, an 8 gallon tank is too small for 1 goldfish, much less three. An undergravel filter is biological only, and gold fish need a much larger tank and heavy mechanical filtration as well.

Welcome to AC!

Make a thread in cold water and ask for advice. I'd recommend water changes.

Yep, I would say that you have too many in that tank. Get a hang on back type filter to help remove goldfish poo, and do lots and lots of water changes until you can get those fish into something bigger. Wouldn't hurt to read the cycling thread if you haven't already. What kind of goldfish are they? This will help people to reccommend a tank size for you. :)

If they are juvenules (and only juvenile goldfish would fit in an 8 gallon) then save up for a new tank by spring. At the bare minimum you'll need a 37g and heavy filtration for these three guys to be happy and healthy. For now, try finding some Sio-Spira and as suggested get a HOB filter rated for 20g. :)
