just picked up a 1.5" green spotted puffer yesterday, have him in a 10 gallon tank by himself. hes doing good, colorful and swimming around, but hes in freshwater now. we were wondering how much of a difference will it make if we just keep it feshwater?

thanks for the info and the link, we are going to start easing him into brackish this weekend, as far as the tank when we get a bigger place then we will be setting up a larger brackish tank, probably a 55 gallon

A 55g for 1 GSP is perfect! It'll love al lthat swimming room. Then when you go up to marine conditions, you'll be able to add a few SW species (if your puffer's not too mean). How soon are you moving?

we have at least another 8 months, when our lease is up, i do have some bigger tanks he can be moved into if necessary before then though, what saltwater species do you think would go with the puffer in a 55 gallon?

I had luck with damsels & a tomato clown. I had a maroon clown that bit my GSP's tail down to a nub.
