Flower Horns aren't really Cichlids, are they? If they're not able to be scientifically classified, can they be called Cichlids?
I like the Oscars--that velvety, matte finish-type look and their personality really make me want to buy some.

I like the Salvini for ca cichlids, Discus for sa cichlids, and africans..uh..wow..too many to choose from. Lots of good lookers in there. Probably P. Demasoni.
flowerhorns are kinda a mutant arent they? kinda like a parrot cichlid? but they are a cichlid none the less arent they? anyways, i love my oscars :) some are awsome in colors, and their personalities are hard to beat.

Nope, not mutants. Mutants are actual variations within a species. They are hybrids, as are blood parrots.
thats what i meant. :) couldnt think of the term though. what are they crossed between, i have often wondered about how well a flowerhorn would be with my oscars, my convicts and my jack

Your Oscars would most likely lost in the battle for turf in such a tank...and the Dempsey would probably be next to go.
ok a flowerhorn is out then :)

a wild texas cichlid would have to be up their along with discus and oscars and maybe a lemon cichlid
My amphilophus festae is very fiesty and not to be trifled with, he is starting to show his adult colors and I think he will be beautiful. Maybe you should add trimac to the list instead of flowerhorn? Just a suggestion.
