Equipment Cleaning

I'm curious to know if any one has suggestions on how to clean my equipment. My tank is currently experiencing some down time and flux due to a move and I'm looking for a way to remove some of the calcified crud that has accumulated on my filter and protein skimmer that's safe and won't hurt the plastic.

White vinegar and water mixture is always a good one..Or a good old scrub with a scrubbing pad and RO water...

Ditto on the vinegar and water mixture. Always worked well for me and it's harmless. Worst case, residue will lower ph. Just rinse well, and you're going to cycle again so any residue will be taken care of.
