OK... Since I am rinsing my gravel in my bathtub... will it be okay to rinse it out and then put it straight to my tank? It's all laying on the floor of my bathtub. I didn't wipe my tub down first before putting it in there... now that I think about it and it makes me a bit concerned. The soap scum or whatever... But it's actually pretty clean looking. No soap smell or bubbles.

can you put it in some sort of strainer (like a noodle strainer) so its not directly in the tub and then just re-rinse really well?

Maybe i'll just ditch it.. and get some new gravel? Wonder if it will be okay? Gosh.. Idk.. blah.

I think you will be okay if you scoop it into a strainer and do a final rinse with hot water, right there in the tub. Small batches at a time.

Well... I rinsed the gravel and it's in my tank... it was warm enough to cause condensation on the inside of my tank. The last 2 batches I did I had run out of hot water but held a white cup under neath the draining water to see the color. After that... I filled the cup up with regular water and it looked the same. So I am sure it's rinsed okay. I am pretty sensitive to warm water so.. it was about comfortable enough to take a shower in... maybe a little cooler. And with my plants.. they look like crap.. will they straighten up when I get water in there?

I rinsed about 5 or 6 strainers worth of gravel for 3-4 minute per batch. 55 lbs. Sifting through it the whole time.

Is that oaky?
