I've currently got a bristle nose in my tank he has already doubled his size in 3 weeks I also have a school of tetras and some are quite small. any chance the bristle nose will eat one? and how can i prevent it if he will?

It will probably get to 5 inches, maybe 7 (absolute max). Make sure you feed it some algae tablets every once and a while.

Bristlenoses (like plecos) have a sucker mouth with rasping plates instead of actual teeth. Basically it's impossible for them to 'grab' something in their mouth and they are pretty much 100% vegetarians anyway. They do have a nasty set of spines though.

only may eat it is if dead which is still unlikely.

i have some dead fish and the plecs have never tried to eat it

yes ive noticed his bristles are coming through. the other day did a big cleanup and when i was transfering him to the holding tank (9l bucket with airstone and heater :P) he got caught in the net so i just put the net in the bucket and he freed himself a few mins later.
