Do you think that Eheim is phasing out the classic series filters?

I will soon be setting up my 90g tank. Right now, I'm looking at the many filters on the market. I noticed that the Eheim classic filters are on sale on a couple of different on-line sites (Big Al's and Drs F&S).

I also noticed a slight "pushing" of the new Pro series filters.

So.. do you think that they are going to discontinue the classic style in the not too distant future? I was looking at the 2217...

FYI-I'm leaning towards a set-up with chiclids. Probably African.

i have seen other filters on sale at big als also. i picked up 2 hot mags a couple weeks ago. just because they are on sale doesnt mean they will be discontinuing them or just because they are pushing the more expensive one doesnt mean it also.

Even if they do, Eheim is good about having parts out their should you need them down the road.

I don't think that is what is happening. it would be a mistake if Eheim phased out the clasic series since it is one of the best filters put out by eheim. They really got it right with the classic series.
