Local aquariums/ public aquariums that have huge amounts of water. Does anyone know if the tap that they are located at has non chlorinated/ chloramin added. Or if not what kind of industrial water conditioner do they use?

Also the only reason i didn't get a saltwater tank and am hesitant to get one in the future is the salt mix for the water is not reasonable esspecially for tanks larger than 20 gals. What do they used since they have huge amounts of water? They would need alot of salt at a cheap price!

ps: I saw in one of the posts i read yesterday that if you take a puffer salt or fresh water out with a net that if it puffed up it would be able to deflate for some reason being out of the water when it happen and you should catch it with a cup instead. Is this statement true? If so thats fasinating stuff i never new.

isn't that more expensive than using conditioner?

By the way if i wanted to strt a salt water tank wheres the cheapest place to get the salt mix?

it's true with the puffers, when spooked, they puff up which takes a lot of energy, it's very stressful for the fish as you can imagine. You don't really want them puffing unnecessarily. It's better to use cups for catching them as nets are more dangerous to them, making them more apt to puffing out.

you have like 3 different kind of questions in one topic.

they want to be able to control the water and have the cleanest water around so i would put a lot on a RO/DI system.
