Hi,
I'm breeding Electric Yellows, but don't like the common "bare" breeding set up. I'm wanting to put something potted that will grow to the top(14") or so that I can easily move so I can get my holding females out to strip. I don't want something they will eat or that will affect the Ph or anything.
Thanks for any input

Hi you might want to try some silk plants,
these are jungle plants made by Hagen
made for reptiles but look great in an aquarium, lol
the fish can't eat them and they don't affect ph.
they are also easily removed for cleaning.

Here's some I have in 75g community tank,
I also have them in some cichlid tanks.

Thanks for the info. Looks pretty cool in your tank, but I do have to say it stricks me as odd to see maple leaves under watere like that:) Don't get me wrong your tank looks great!!!

Java fern attached to driftwood would work, just lift out the wood when it's time to catch the female. They can get up to 12" high, plus the height of the driftwood.

Agreed, silk floaters, just enough for a secure feeling and easy maintenance.
