light bulb question

Im not positive, but i am fairly certain your plants cant use that light for feeding at all. Actinic promote the growth of algae for [SIZE=-1]photosynthetic corals and invertebrates in marine tanks.

Then go shopping for another bulb.

Plants very much like the blue spectrum of light, however an actinic bulb is deficient in other spectra (reds, oranges, yellows, greens) which plants use in some way or another. And every species of plant photosynthesizes at different spectra.

A full spectrum bulb is best for this simple fact - that it contains all spectra and therefore works to generally cover the needs of all plants.

Just running the actinic will promote some growth, but it will also help algae more than you want it to.

Switch to full spectrum.
