OK, last friday I bought 2 of what I thought were convict hybrids. Dont look like any cons Ive seen before. All white with a hint of yellow around the fins & tail, What looks like stripes, but they are all splotchy. Kind of dairy-cowish.
Well the female laid eggs 2 days after I got them! Yesterday they hatched!!? I thought hybrids werent able to breed successfuly.
I will get pics as soon as I can.
So what should I feed them when the yolk sac is gone? They are in my 26 gal, with sponge over the filter intake. The female is a great mom, keeping all the fry on the sheltered spot of a large piece of driftwood.

Thanks,
Jacob

I dont know what you are supposed to feed them, but my convicts had babies too and I didn't do anything but feed them extra flake food. and They are about 4 weeks old now. The momma and dadda fed them for awhile and now they go up to the top and eat on their own.

boiled egg yolk. very high in protein, very small in size. don't just toss in an egg ... scrape off a small piece and crush it up.
