My fish and aquatic adventures. :D

Within these pages I hope to (that means I plan on it but might not get to it lol)
keep track of
1. fishes that I've had
2. their lives, length of and how'd they lived/die of natural causes/etc, their funny antics and whatnot
3. fish-a-verseries
4. my tanks and all that that implies
5. experiments with diy projects (lol, I'm not very handy, but I can be enthusiastic, doesn't always work to my advantage lol)
6. anything else I can think of that may or may not be appropriate for a fish blog
7. I may let some of my fish do their own blogs if they behave *yelling in background, "No! Stop biting her! Stop! Sit! Roll over! Play dead! Wait! No! I was kidding about that last one! Aaaarghhhhh!"*
8. I just thought there should be another #.

Welcome, and read and proceed at your own risk.

  1. My First Real Tank!

by , 10-25-2009 at 3:21 AM (My fish and aquatic adventures. :D)
Setting up a 29g this week!

Not counting the one gallon... um... or the shrimp nursery, lol, this will be my first 'real' tank!

    Currant survivors:
    Bettas (girls):
    Baby Blue
    6? Ghost Shrimp
2 Dwarf Gouramis (male & female???)

Hopefully getting 2 more girls (bettas) in the next month to start quaratining. 3 is not enough to spread out the 'picking'.
Piggy has scared poor Nadette ...
  2. Chomper died

Chomper : betta girl (blue green silver)

    October 14, 2009,
Around 3 or 4 pm, Chomper was healthy and happy (looking).
I next saw her October 15, around 3:30 am. Her eyes were bugged out (no red rims), she was mostly floating, but still swimming some.
I immediately removed her (examined all the fish quickly) and promptly woke the landlady (she really appreciated that, lol) so she could let me on her computer. I remembered seeing something called 'pop ...
  3. Shrimp or very small fish algae eaters for salted water?

by , 08-07-2009 at 5:01 AM (My fish and aquatic adventures. :D)
advice needed, I think when done newest tank will be 10 -12g. I have one female betta.
I would like to get 1 maybe 2 more girls (not sure yet).
    Maybe, 5 - 10 neon tetras.
I would like some little algae eaters, shrimp maybe? but I don't know and am having trouble finding which ones can live with some salt (freshwater tank) in the water and need to be good at up to 84 degress farenheit.

    1. Will these fit? (even if no other bettas, any of the others?) ...
  4. First one :)
