I started out with 7 neons. 2010, Black Friday.
First time I feed the fish live worms, one of the neons pigs out till death.
Vacuuming tank with new larger hose. Neons insist on staying near tube while vacuuming and one gets sucked up.
Will the saga continue?
#5, I don't remember how he died.
#4, was pecked by the Von Rio's.
#3, I found had turned white and did not look well at all.
Down to 2! Waaa!
#2, looked just slightly off color day before yesterday (Sun?), when I was doing water changes Monday night it was swimming very erratically.
I took it out to monitor, see if he would get better or worse; used about an inch of tank water + fresh water + some small plants.
The plants calmed it down a bit but it was still behaving erratically. It died within a few hours... but I think it was closer to 1/2 - 1 hour after when he died. I'm just glad he wasn't in the tank when he died they can be so hard to find and get out.
Poor lil' #1. All alone. Course all he did was pick on #2 lol.
#1 has been staying in the cave mostly and hanging nose down. As this has at times indicated a problem - followed by death - I'm keeping a close eye on him.
