Hello!

I have a small tank/bowl for my betta and cherry shrimp. It's non-aerated. All was fine for over a month. Sadly both my betta and shrimp died recently. So currently my tank is empty. As I'm waiting for my new betta to arrive I noticed that I have two issues with the tank. Problem one is a large string/hairy algea bloom happening in the tank. How can I get rid of this??
The other problem, which is worrying me even more is the fact that I noticed tiny white tear-dropped bugs in my tank. They're the size of 0.5mm. Many of them are either roaming around the glass or on one of my large mossballs (the one with the hairy algea bloom).
I've taken some photos, but they're so small it's hard to see. In either regard I hope this helps anyway:
https://www.icloud.com/photostream/#A4JtdOXmJ8kSxb

I hope somebody can help identify these creatures and whether or not they're dangerous. Also hope to get rid of the algea cause it's growing at a VERY rapid pace.

Thank you!
David

It been hot lately in my room, no A/C running. My room got nearly to nearly 90, now its at 84. I checked the temp of my 10g.. I was shocked to see the temp. I have two different thermometers on it. The strip on the side and another that sticks to the inside of the tank. The water temp was above 90, close to 95. I unpluged my heated. I'm just surprised the fish seem fine, expect the betta isn't moving much and the kuhlis seem sluggish. The endlers, molly, platy and the hillstream seem to be fine. Maybe it's a good thing I have a bio-wheel 100 on the tank.

Would my fish be fine? My room normally is around 68-76.. but never in the 80s. Is it better off with the heater unplugged for now and let it sit at room temp? I been keeping the 3g unplugged and the temp in that tank is about 74-78, without heater.

I was in a lfs and saw this filter on sale for $179. Is this a good price or that filter? Is it a good filter in general? I would use it for my 80g. Thanks

I have a danio, that I have had for over a year now... I have checked all the water levels- everything is in good range. And I recently got some new fish that came to me with Ick, so I have been treating this tank for the past two weeks it feels like- between water changes, and reintroducing meds (a combination between alternating prima and melaflix... added to the already brackish water/ raised temps, etc.)....I'm worried about my other fish catching it-- or how does that work?? No one else seems to be sick, but I recall my last danio that passed- also had dropsy symptoms (pine cone-like scales), between the two- this current fish is still swimming at food, but spits it out every time I have seen. I'm worried that this fish got it from that one :( I have already read that it is pretty much a lost cause trying to treat... so should I QT him...?? I feel that would stress him out even more... but at the risk of infecting my other fish... I cannot put them in danger. How can I be sure the infection is not occurring in the water still?? Or how does Dropsy work? HELLLPP!!
