Oh, it depends on brand even on the 38 gallon tanks. Some are 36 inches, some are 30 inches. My bad for assuming your tank is a tall version.

It's ok everybody makes mistakes, nobody is perfect. Well my tank is 36 inches long but it is also pretty tall, 20 inches tall. Are the tall tanks 24 inches tall?

Wow that is a pretty tall tank, I would hate to have to find a lighting system strong enough to penetrate the bottom of the tank to grow plants in :).
