Who cares. I know someone who has a 50 gallon planted tank with about 20 bluegill ranging anywhere from 1/2" to 3". He also has a largemouth bass and 10 rock bass that he caught in a creek near his house. The fish will eventually gety too big, but not for a long while.

What I usually do is boil waterand put the salt in it so itdissolves faster, then i put ice cubes to get it around 78 degrees

It was in the tank only for about a half an hour. I don't think that's a big deal, and I already released it so I really can't do anything about it.

Nothing has been scientifically proven. It's based solely on the opinion of who you talk to. Lot of people say it treats ich and helps build a slime coat. Some might say it even helps gill function by adding electrolytes. I really think its useless unless your trying to treat ich. But...
