Thanks, Pir. During the summer i generally fertilize them once per month and let them catch whatever bugs they catch. During the winter i don't really feed them at all. VFTs are really cool, don't feed them dead bugs though... They won't generally eat them.
No idea unfortunately. This is my first one, and I haven't been able to find much on line. Kinda cool watching it unfold though.
rack mods

In the midst of waiting for the Heli to bloom, I thought I'd update some mods I just finished on the rack itself. Basically, I was sick of looking at the rack wrapped in plastic, so I went to home depot and got some 1" thick foam board insulation. It's the kind with the reflective silver on one side and clear plastic coating on the other.
It was actually really easy to cut it to size and wedge it in between the bars and shelves on the rack. I cut a hole in the right hand side to install a 3" computer fan hooked to an AC adapter.
A friend who was here when I was working on it said it's "atomic bright" now. LOL... I guess I accomplished one of the goals. :laugh:
