Debra's Tank

    Debra & Miles' 3240g Tank

    3240 gallon tank
    12'L x 6'H x 6'W constructed of 2x4 - 4: on centre and 1 1/2" thick plywood
    Held together with 36 yards of fibreglass matting, 10 gallons of resin, and 10 gallons of gel-coat.
    2 panes of glass measuring 5' x 3' x 3/4" thick.
    Powered by 3 hp pump that pumps about 9000 gallons per hour.
    Back up pump - 3/4 hp that will pump 4500 gallons per hour.
    Filtration - 3 swimming pool sand filters - 3 x 4" suction lines to the filters and 2 x 2", 12' long return lines back to the tank.
    Approximately 1/2 ton of gravel covers the bottom of the tank and there are about 1/4 ton of large rocks and slate inside.
    5' tree stump in one corner.
    12' limb off a local apple tree spans the length of the tank.

    25 year old Black Pacu (about 35 pounds)
    5 year old "baby" pacu
    3' Tiger Shovelnose Catfish
    27" Irridescent Shark
    3' Black Arrowana
    4 full grown Tinfoil Barbs
    12" Tilapia
    4 - 12" Plecostamus
    12" Marble Catfish
    4 Synodontis (Featherfin)Cats
    about 200+ assorted Africans

    Pacu's favorite food - Milk Bones!

    If I had a tank that size, I'd get a black tip reef shark. :cool:

    if I had a tank that big, i'd get an piraracu, A.K.A arimpima gigas.
