Inka's been spawning more Zhoui eggs than he's got room for so I took these home. Today should be about day 4... Maybe.

Last count was 29 eggs after removing 3 fungused eggs. Added half an alder cone and started daphnia and microworm cultures. Today is probably day 6 or so, so we should see fry by Wednesday.

Looks like a good-size clutch, weren't the first spawns only a few eggs? The suspense is murder...

The first have started hatching. Many show signs of movement in their eggs, and most have pointed their heads down and are pressing on the shell, like they want out. One however, has it's tail out of the egg, and is twitching and wiggling frequently trying to get out. Exciting times!

    here's a couple of pics...

something Inka and I have been discussing is the correlation to tonight's full moon. Turns out, his last 2 hatches were also within 24 hours of a full moon. would be crazy to find a distinct pattern over a longer period.

    Just a little update...

I've removed the hatching site and started feeding microworms. It's been impossible to get a decent photo or video, or get an absolute count, but I believe I have around 22 fry hiding in the darkest corner. They seem to respond to the microworms, and I can see how full their bellies are, so they appear to be eating.
