I woke up this morning to find that my blue dwarf gourami has a lump on its side.

I am almost certain that it popped up over night...I was just trying to get pics of him the day before.

What is it? Can it be fixed? Also I don't have a quarantine tank yet either...

Not good! Looks like it's about to open up into a lesion. I would definitely medicate that fish immediately. A sulfa- based product like API Triple Sulfa would be my first choice, second would be something furan-based.

Well it could have been something festering for a while. Always possible that his body has been fighting it for a while and just can't fight it anymore or it got worse.
