It's not the first time (nor the last time I bet) that I've responded to something that came up on the "new posts" only to find out that the thread was years old...

I guess I need to look at the date posted from time to time! LOL

it happens when users accidentally scrolls down to the very bottom of the page and sees the 'Similar Threads' box but doesn't see that the last post might have been from 2004. they then read the thread, and then post, and then we all post until someone points out the thread is 5 years old.

Or, sometimes, we continue posting long after this fact is revealed. We do this for no apparent reason. This is the thread that never ends - It goes on and on my friend - some people started typing it, not knowing what it was - now they just keep typing it - keep typing just because - this is the thread that never ends -
