They're simply crowding into the only available cover. Given a larger tank with plenty of suitable hiding places they'd all be happier.

What size tank, and what peacocks are you wanting? I have a male eureka red, a group of ruby reds, and an odd male ruby red that's solid yellow/orange.
Neat fish, but I typically have my tanks too crowded for one of those to be comfortable.
Have a tile saw handy? Main thing is getting the right size for a given species to use.
