Start the fish at whatever temp you keep them at. You want to wrap the ice pack in a thick layer of newspaper to slow down the melt as much as possible.
More accurate with the fish you want to keep with be either. If you don't want to mess with plants, then don't.

If I use a Ice Pack, what temp should I start them in? Also what kind of ice pack should I use or can I use any?
