I'm ordering some plants online for my dads' 16 gallon bow front. I've grown plants under lower than recommended lighting but this time I'm a bit more nervous as I think I'm pushing it a little.

This 16 gallon bow front is about 17" tall and I've got a 15watt 6700k plant bulb on it. Think it will handle swords & wisteria?

Has anybody ever grown swords & wisteria under this type of lighting?

Well, according to THIS post that would give you low-medium light. Keep in mind the size of most swords tho, like an amazon sword would get WAY too large for a 16g.

Well, I've grown swords in low light (2x T12 over a 20" 55g) but not wisteria...not sure how that may translate to your dad's tank, nothing wrong with trying it

Na, it'll fit. It's the same height as my 29 gallon almost.

I grew the heck out of an amazon sword and wisteria in a 10g, with two 10w CFLs, but we're talking not as much height and a few more watts per gallon. Like said, I had to get the amazon sword out of there because it filled the tank.
