So I have 4 fish tanks going and an empty 29g I have decided to try a paludarium. I am planning and have a few questions.

1. I am planning a water fall using a modified HOB filter.. Will coconut fiber or the moss u get at pet stores hold up under a trickle of water?

2. Is the water always going to be dirty looking because of the running water?

3. What type of easy starter animal would u reccomend? I prefer something that will use land and water. Or would annoles be suitable? I know they don't do water, but if I had large land section would it work?

4. Finally, what substrate is easiest and cleanest to grow easy plants in?

Thanks for the help. I am sure more ?s will be coming!

I used nothing more then peat moss available at any nursery. Or home depot you can see from my post above it has worked pretty well over the years and to control it from running you can get
sphagnum moss in sheets you can use to stabilize the loose peat.
