Blue Zacco Barbs...

Anyone have any experience with these fish? I purchased some at a new LFS and they are incredibly beautiful, fast swimming fish. However, there's not much on the net under this name. Any info would be much aprpreciated.

p.s. unfortunately I haven't a digital cam, so no pics at this point

Try zacco platypus. It looks kind of like a giant danio in body shape,

I was going to say that I was thinking of the zacco platypus, but none of the images are a direct match. Unlike this:

mine are a silver blue with pronounced darker blue stripes in the center of the body. But I am pretty sure that you're right--what's being called the zacco barb is some form of the platypus.

Just wanted to update this thread I started in case anyone was interested. It appears that my info was bunk, at least as far as the rest of the world is concerned. The gorgeous Blue Zacco Barb seems to rather take the name of Metallic hill trout of the Barilius genus, though it is not a trout, but rather a carp. Beautiful fish, though they ended up being too quick and fast for the parameters of my tank. Check it out, yo (the image is exactly what I had):
