:thumbsup:for a snail friendly tank! Looks great. I might even be inspired to add more rocks to my own set up.

    Help with ID

Thanks. I moved some fish around the other day and he comes out a LOT more now that the convict isn't in there. He has been hanging out on driftwood and flares out his fins more. I hate throwing in wafers at night because I never know if they get eaten or not. Hope for the best, I guess.

    Help with ID

Well that is a little bit of hope then. As far as feeding him, any tips? I feed zucchini and squash already. No one in the tank liked romaine much. I'm not sure how to get any protein to the pleco. The cichlids devour any pellets I throw in. :/

    Help with ID

Ugh. I hate that I got something that 1. Was incorrectly ID'd for me and 2. My tank can't handle. I can't get a grasp on the Pleco IDs to do it for myself and now I got screwed because of it. Any idea how long I have before he gets huge on me?

    Help with ID

I've had this guy for a few months and he's growing pretty well. Was sold to me as a "gold spot butterfly pleco" and I was told it would max around 11" I've been trying to figure out what it is but I am extremely inexperience with IDing plecos. Its a shoddy pic, I know. I have a heck of a...

looking for a good cichlid for a 29 gallon.

And just for the record, I'm not a big angel person, I got a few because I liked the way they follow me while in the store. I wanted something not shy for my daughter to look at. Like a dummy, I traded them in after growing them out just for the heck of it and got more babies. Had a die off and...

looking for a good cichlid for a 29 gallon.

No one has suggested an angelfish. While I've never owned an Oscar personally, I have had angels. They aren't shy and are always the first fish to greet me. The one I have now, which is growing out with some young rainbows actually, goes nuts when I have the food can while the rainbows take...

HybridHerps 75 Gallon Tank (High Tech Planted Tank, with an assortment of fish)

So far wisteria, one of my crypts and some guppy grass. I haven't tried anything else with them since they tore up my crypt Tropica. I have all the plants with the platies now. Naughty little fish haha. Going to pick up some java fern and try that route in their tank.

    Sev aggression.

They have been together their whole life, but I have only owned them for the past year. Pretty sure they are both males. They both eat well unless I put a zucchini in for my pleco. Then the big guy guards it for awhile.

Tropical fish that most closely resembles a goldfish?

Six is the common number for fish that like to be in groups. That goes for cories too. What is the solo catfish that you have? I think 6 rosy barbs and 6 cories would be fine in a 30g.

Tropical fish that most closely resembles a goldfish?

Rosy barbs came to mind. The longfin variety are especially goldfish like. And platies are plenty happy in a group of three.

    Sev aggression.

I have two hand sized red headed severums in a 75g. I think they are about two years old and both males. They are very close to the same size but the larger of the two has been chasing the other for a few months now. It isn't violent, but the smaller hides behind a chunk of driftwood most of the...

    Rainbow Cichlid

Thanks again, Mike. You've been a great help. I'm so excited about this, I can't stand it! Haha.

    Rainbow Cichlid

Another question, do you think they'd be ok with platies or would a tetra species be better?

    Rainbow Cichlid

Hey Mike, could I talk you into a FTS when they don't have fry?

    Rainbow Cichlid

The smallest are too small for the 75g which is why I thought about splitting them. This helps though. Thank you!
