lol...they want to sell food...three times a day is extreme. Once a day is enough and even then people tend to overfeed. A fish stomach is roughly the size of one of its eyes on average so figure how little food they actually need to have a full meal.
I have two miniature Shnauzers. They are great pets and very smart. The only down side to them is the regular trip to the groomer. They do not shed so need regular hair cuts. There is also a tendency in the breed for bad teeth so regular appointments with the vet for cleaning is a must. If...
Amazon swords will put out plantlets from its leaves. What I do is weigh them down and let them establish a root system. When fully established I cut them off from Mom and plant in a suitable location or give them to a friend.
Don't use the supply line to throttle your flow. It is best to keep that line wide open. Control your flow with the discharge valve only. That would be the valve on the return line to your tank. If you throttle the suction valve to the pump (that's the line going from tank to pump) you risk...
20 ppm hardness is very soft. If you are on mountain water you will have very soft water. The company I work for have plants in the Rockies and the water there is comparable to what you are describing. I'm on top of a limestone aquifer and the water here is usually about 350 ppm, very hard.
I think the guy was telling you it was a Crappy. It isn't one of those. I catch those fairly often (they are very tasty!)

I have a planted 10 with one betta boy and 6 rasboras. It is a fun tank, the kids like it better than my planted 120. The only issue with the 10 is that the rasboras are a lot faster at snatching food than the betta so I have to hand feed him to be sure he gets his share. It makes for one...
Sorry to jump in here but way back in the early parts of this thread there was mention on cleaning the filter. This is probably not needed in a one month old tank with a few 'baby' fish in it. Also how is this being done? If the cleaning is under a tap using city water you will kill most of...
My all time favourite was a marble angel that lived by herself in a heavily planted 29 gallon tank. She refused to eat any food unless I hand fed her. If I just put the food into the tank she would just stare at me until I served it to her. She was the queen of her realm.
My second favorite are...
