Sorry, I guess I wasn't clear. I run a penguin 350 JUST for the biowheels. I also run a canister filter. I'm working on getting more plant action so I can remove them.. like Gunner.
I accidentally left my biowheels off for a couple of days (my penguin 350 has no filters in it, just runs the bio wheels) and my nitrites jumped way up, in two days. Think what you want but I run biowheels on all my tanks.
A pallet is 4' wide, that puts this tank to 24' long at least and 4' tall. if it's only 2' wide it's just over 1400 gallons but it looks to be 4'x4'x24' or 2800 gallons.
Putting rock in before sand can in some cases create very small pressure points on the tempered glass underneath. I always put down an inch of sand then the rock. Then the rest of the sand.
They could eventually get into a death match but if you have ample room then they should be ok. I've had up to 6 in a 55g before but they fought bad until there were only 4 left and that seems to be the max. 2 blue 2 red.. they stay clear of each other pretty well now.
I guess that's about 1...
Why do my two Clarkii's only go after gunny fry but never the molly fry? They'll run out and grab a guppy baby and spit it out at into their little burrow (they get an anenome next week) but those black molly fry just swim around, afraid of nobody.
-- the green spotted puffer also just...
Thanks!
Gunner, thanks a ton for reviewing this filter. I purchased one after reading about it here and it has been amazing. This filter is a beast. It's running on a 55g fresh and I CAN'T HEAR IT AT ALL.
I think I'm going to put my two Magnum 350's in storage as backups and get another...
Yeah, we sometimes see him go from white to black or black to white for no reason other than because he can apparently.. he does it very quickly, usually in 2-3 minutes. He also likes to practice his puffing now and then. Great character on this guy.
I'm still not buying it... bubbles from a pressurized source are more easily incorporated into water because why?
Adding CO2 to water is done by pressurizing the water, not the co2.
It's a new mark on him... he's sleeping now but it looks to be faded a bit already. He is a little thin, he got sick before acclimating him to salt from fresh over the last couple of weeks. - We started the process the day we got him home.
He was fresh when we purchased him of course... he...
I know these guys go light to dark on a whim etc., but I've never seen them go dark vertically like this in one spot. Usually it's the underbelly or the lateral but always horizontal patterns.
