I have tried recharging my purigen and it won't turn white again it always stays brown after soaking in my bleach and water mix for 24 hours. I put 2 cups each of water and bleach and let it sit. Am I doing something wrong here? I rinsed it before soaking as well...

I'm in my early 20s and I share the same problem as you. I'm just glad that my fiancee is lienant with me and my hobby, he has a goldfish tank of his own, but I won't touch it x.x I only get to fish nerd out with people online or people that are in my local fish club, but everyone there is 30+...
I have SAEs in my planted 55 and I love them. They keep my tank clear of BBA and hair algae. I always love watching them because they are constantly scouring the tank for algae to eat .

Hi Mark,
I think I found out what the injuries are from. in the picture you can see a small part of a piece of slate that is laying flat on the sand. the parents dug under that piece of slate, and I think the female is scraping herself on it every time she goes in and out. I will need to make...
I looked at my 210 gallon just now for feeding, and noticed that one of my neolamprologus pulchers was looking a little beat up. Upon closer inspection, they seem to have bred. I'm not holding my breath on the fry surviving as they are in the tank with 10 frontosa, but is it normal for the...
You could do an african tank if you don't want to do a planted tank. Lost of color and active fish in every section of the water column, I have a colony of frontosa with a bichir and neolamp. Pulchers in my 7x2x2 210 gal and they love it.
I have both a male and female bristlenose plecos that have some gold specs in them. Are they technically calicos? The first two are of the male and the last two are of the female .

I actually talked to inkmaker on one of my other forums nd he informed me that the amount of medication that I dosed was about 50% of an overdose. He said to wait and see if the overdosing killed it and if not, I will contact him then

Well I treated again this weekend, and had another danio and my only SAE die... bummer... how long should I keep my eye on the tank to make sure it's cured? I'm going to put more/new fish in, but idk how to tell when it's safe...
Also, I found out the calvus that died in my 75 gallon was a...
I treated according to the packaging it came with. But it says to do a 50% WC, feed the fish, then dose the tank, turn off the lights and then after 24 hours do a 75% WC and put carbon back in
I have a planted 55 where I have some plecos, giant danios and apisto cacutoides. I use a python to drain and fill all of my tanks. I don't know what fish brought it in, but I know for a fact I have the worms in the 55 and my 75 gallon now... I disinfect the python between tank changes, but I...
It's floramax, regular colored. I did say throw away, but I gave a vast majority of it to a coworker that is just starting the hobby... Sorry for the misleading comment lol...

lol! idk! I've had some pretty awful scapes in my past... especially my first aquarium when I got back into the hobby! talk about gaudy and rainbows everywhere!
Thank you! I enjoy it a lot more because it allows more open space for my danios to swim.
This is the first time that I had tried to do a bigger tank like the 55 with plants. I've hard scaped my 200, but I can't imagine trying to scape it with plants. I enjoy scaping smaller tanks like 20L...
I got my driftwood in the other day and totally revamped the scape. Before it looked really cramped and overgrown. I threw away a lot of water sprite and wisteria, but I am pretty happy with the result. I also put in 20 more pounds of floramax to make the substrate deeper for the plants.
The pic...
