I bought an Aqueon QuietFlow 10 for the shrimp tank and also a 20L. Gotta tell you I almost bought a 40B there too. It was such an eye candy. But if it weren't for the cash I had on hand I would have swooped on it... and space. I like the filter so far but it doesn't seem to help a lot with the...
I'm doing that with dirt. But I am pretty sure you can get the same results with Eco-Complete. As for lighting I am no too sure.

I didn't think this through. What if I left the bio bags in the tank. The cycled filter and added the internal filter. Let the internal get some BB for a week and replace the sand?

I got a hook up on a summer job and started on Wednesday. I never knew how hard working was. But I haven't had time to go fish shopping yet so hopefully tomorrow I'll go on a big spending spree for everything and new tanks. Looking at maybe 2 20L for Red Cherry and OEBTs. Or just 1 20L for OEBT.
The Petco's in San Francisco had the tanks in stock since last week and one person told me its suppose to happen this Sunday.

Well the $1 per gallon sale is this Sunday in SF. So if you want a 40 it might be a good time to get rid of your 30 and pick up a 40? Just a suggestion.
Anybody know what this white thing is? Its been growing on my sand and every time I vac it out it seems to just keep coming back. Its white and it grows on the sand and when I vac it, it sticks to the sand so I have to pull out some sand with it.
The tank is in its 2nd week of cycling and should be ready to add shrimp/ fish in this weekend. I am shooting for some RCS or OEBTs. I am also looking for some rock to do a iwagumi scape and adding more plants in sometime this week. Its in the process of making a carpet of HC. No CO2 and high...
I am planning to put flame moss and a carpet of some kind. Oh and also grow out bigger plants for bigger tanks. I am not sure for the lighting yet. For shrimp I really want the OEBT but I am afraid that if I get them they might die because of my lack of experience. Yes I did wash the playsand...
I dirted my first tank today. I did a lot of things wrong and I corrected some of them but lets see how this goes. I capped it with play sand. I am attempting to make it an all shrimp tank. The problem is I am broke and I have a 3 gallon filter while the tank is 10 gallons. I have heard that an...
Is eco-complete equally as good as a dirted tank? I am rethinking about dirting because of the mess it would be. How easy is it to take out the dirt if want to change the substrate?
