What Should I put in My Tank?

Either G. pseudoincisus or M. Parva.

What Should I put in My Tank?

Will do. I figure that it's better than starting from scratch.

What Should I put in My Tank?

I'm not worried about the shrimp. They're in there to keep the tank cycled.:evil_lol:

What Should I put in My Tank?

I'm not a newbie, I just haven't posted much in a long time. I have a 55g with an Eheim Pro II 2026. It currently houses some low light plants, red cherry shrimp and a ghost shrimp. I would really like to keep a group of Rainbows, but I can't seem to find what I want online right now and...

    Looking at inverts

I would say Amanos or ghosts. Ghost shrimp are really easy to keep and a lot of fun. They never ate my snails. There are other types that you could try, but these two are probably the cheapest and most accessible.

    Texas get-together

Don't know if I'd be able to actually make it or not, but I'm interested.

    crap

They will sometimes sift through the waste looking for undigested food. They are detrivores. They do not, however "eat poo" and must never be expected to live off fish waste. http://aquariumboard.com/forums/fw-invertebrates-amphibians/1231-july-2006-critter-month-ghost-shrimp.html

    WTB mystery snails

And where did you find this information? Most applesnails are not imported. Some species are illegal in certain states, for example in Texas where I am you cannot have Pomacea canaculata or Marisa snails, but you can have all other applesnail species I believe. I know that brigs are not...

    A. gigas

I think that many people on this site (including myself) jump to conclusions when dealing with certain "tankbusting" fish because many of them are readily available in the aquarium trade and are not appropriate for the average home aquarist. As far as A. gigas goes, as I said, it is listed as a...

    Shrimp suggestions

Why do you want to put more shrimp in there if they are just going to get eaten?

    Aquarium salt

I'm curious, how big is your tank? Those are some monster fish in there.

    Red-Eared Sliders

This is actually what I read as well.

    A. gigas

They are on the list of illegal fish in Texas which is where I live and the original poster lives.

    They hatched!

Nice. My understanding is that they must hatch out of water and then go into the water. If they hatch underwater they will drown.

    A. gigas

According to the Texas Parks and Wildlife site (which I was on today), they are illegal to have in the state of TX. You could always email them, I suppose, and ask if anything has changed.

    Betta BS

Bettas can breathe at the surface. If the tank is adequately oxygenated then they shouldn't need to because they can use their gills like other fish. I believe that betta fry must have access to the surface when forming their labyrinth organ but that's not what we are talking about here...

That's beautiful, Mark. Thanks for sharing.

    Breeding ghost shrimp???

You can breed them in a heavily planted tank provided that you have a sponge filter(no other type of filter) and special food for the babies. It is also possible that in a heavily planted tank there may be enough infusoria that you will not have to feed specialized food, however I expect that...

    Probably a stupid question...

I've heard that you can acclimate guppies to BW so you may be able to house them with the dragon goby. I don't think that you can do any tetras in that set up though.

I also like Caroline for a girl. I'm assuming that you have a boy name chosen already?
