Hi all, I joined this site years ago when I was a teenager and I'm happy to see it's still here! I have since changed from the community variety to African Cichlids. Here's my 75 gallon as of today:

That's been part of my thoughts as well. I just got a 3d background for the 75. Probably gonna move the cichlids into the 55 til i get aragonite sand in and the background siliconed on. Also going to be building a canopy for it and staining the stand and canopy darker. Move the cichids back...

Been a while since I was into the hobby, but alas I am back. I have had my 75g set up for about 2 months now. Aiming for purely African cichlids. Stock (so far): 3 Acei, 2 Electric Yellow Labs, 1 Yellow fin Borleyi, and one Auratus. Everyone gets along well. I'd like to add about 10+ more, but...

You should check out some Bio Tope sites on the natural habitat for Neon Tetras... But being from SA, they're gonna want soft water, somewhat warm, and lots of shady plants.

Gouramis are active parents, and need experience... So if it is the first time that they have bred, then I doubt you'll get a lot if any fry. I wouldn't worry about it too much in any case, because you seem to like your tank to just run it's course, and if you have barbs...they will destroy...

I took a big break from aquariums, and aquarium forums... in fact I don't even have a tank setup now... I'm big into graphics design now... So tell me if you need some sort of banner or buttons, etc. Dale, I can help ya out ;)
