If columnaris part of the issue, treating them in a hospital tank won't cure the issue in the main tank. While many believe there are meds that help, my personal experience is euthanize the fish and bomb the tank completely.
Is this your only tank? If I read correctly, you just set it up. I don't think your tank is cycled at all, especially with zero nitrates considering your heavy feeding. You should be changing water at least weekly o 30-50%.
That bracing is to minimize bowing on the long sides, and to support some type of lighting fixture, which is hidden by that upper trim assembly. How thick are the side panels?

Have you contacted the current pimp manufacturer with complete details of your current set-up? It looks ike across of an aquaponics and tank system and may be an issue of air saturation causing impeller cavitation.
Get full readings on your tap water after the sample water has sat out over night. I disagree with blindly adding RO without a specific reason such as poor quality tap water.
